What with her distinctive style and striking sound, it's hard to ignore Florence of Florence and the Machine. And if you were in any doubt as to her enormous popularity, look no further than her first arena tour, which calls at The O2 on 5 December. Tickets £29.50 + bf.
Enigmatic, anthemic, orchestral and Icelandic: Sigur Ros stimulate your mind and stir the senses. Their set at Bestival last weekend may have ended in an apology from the band, but they'll still be an enticing prospect at O2 Brixton Academy on 7 and 8 March next year. Tickets £30 + bf.
New Zealand singer-songwriter Ladyhawke has talked about suffering stage fright in interviews, so is the title of her second album, Anxiety, designed to confront it head-on? Find out at HMV Forum on 14 November. Tickets £16 + bf.
Remember the Dandy Warhols? Although they're perhaps best-known for soundtracking a Vodafone advert from a few years back, they've released several records since, and still pack out respectably-sized venues. Talking of which, they'll be at Heaven on 22 November. Tickets £24.50 + bf.
Interpol frontman Paul Banks plans to release his second full-length solo album later this year. His previous material came out under the name of Julian Plenti, and as he's no longer hiding behind that pseudonym it'll be interesting to see how much of a departure the new stuff is from his industrial, beat and synth-heavy first album.
