Preview: Malaysia Night In Trafalgar Square

This Friday, Trafalgar Square will once again play host to a Pasar Malam, a traditional Malaysian night market. This free event takes place between 3-10pm (by which time the cool night air will have made it painfully clear that you're not actually in Malaysia) and offers 'signature street food-inspired dishes' from over 20 Malaysian restaurants, including London's Awana, Tukdin and Satay House.

Now in its second year, the event takes on extra flavour thanks to the presence of Tim Anderson, Masterchef winner and Malaysian food devotee, who will be showcasing his take on the cuisine. Manchester-based Norman Musa, dubbed the 'UK's leading Malaysian chef', will also be signing copies of his cookbook.

The market will also feature stalls selling an array of typical crafts and ingredients, and traditional martial arts, dance and musical performances will take place from 5pm.

Malaysia Night runs from 3pm-10pm this Friday (23rd September) in Trafalgar Square. Nearest tube stations: Charing Cross, Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. The event is run by Malaysia Kitchen, an organisation aiming to promote Malaysian cuisine in the UK.
