The World in London is a photography project making portraits of Londoners, each of whom was born in one of the 204 nations competing in London's 2012 Olympic Games.
Over 200 photographers have been commissioned for the project but the organisers still need to find Londoners from 38 nations willing and able to pose for a portrait that might be seen by thousands of people in an outdoor exhibition next summer. Do you know someone in London who hails from any of the following?
Africa: Benin, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Malawi, Niger, Sao Tome and Principe, Swaziland
Asia: DPR Korea (North Korea), Timor-Leste
Central America and the Caribbean: Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Virgin Islands (US)
Europe: Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino
Middle East: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Syria
Oceania: American Samoa, FS Micronesia, Guam, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu
If so, please get in touch with the Photographers Gallery.
Incidentally, the reopening of the Ramillies Street gallery has now been delayed to early 2012. If you're curious what's going on behind the scaffolding, there's a photo gallery online showing every stage of the redevelopment.
