There’s a Roving Chef pop up shop at 18 Exmouth Market featuring traditional cakes by Hayley Edwards and props by Samara Tompsett. You’ve got until 3 September at 6pm to get in and sample what Londonist remembers to be especially delicious baked goods.
Juice and smoothie makers, Innocent, are launching a “Hungry Grassy Van” offering a £5 five-a-day menu of recipes from the new book Hungry?. Individual dishes will include rainbow root vegetable chips, lamb koftas and veggie burgers and will be priced between £2 and £3. The van will be in London between the 9th and 11th September at an as yet undisclosed location before carrying on to other UK destinations. Carluccio’s Autumn Mushroom Festival commences 10 September and lasts until 10 October. In addition to mushroom and truffle shopping and menu specials at the restaurants, a “bustling open-air mushroom market” will take place around the country “offering visitors the chance to choose from a huge selection of fresh, dried, wild and cultivated mushrooms” with the Carluccio’s team “cooking with them, talking about them and doing everything they can to get you experimenting with them.” Market dates for London are 24 and 25 September at the Stratford Carluccio’s and 7 and 8 October at The Brunswick.
From 16 to 18 September, Sloane Square’s The Botanist pub will celebrate the start of oyster season with a pop up Chapel Down and Oyster Bar offering a “selection of seafood fresh from Billingsgate Market each morning, including … four different varieties of oysters, poached Scottish Isle of Benbecula langoustines served cold with lemon and mayonnaise and whole dressed Dorset crab” along with sparkling wine from England’s leading wine producer, Chapel Down.
F**k! Gordon Ramsey‘s got a new resto in the pipeline set to open 26 September. His Bread Street Kitchen is set in the City in a “large warehouse-style room that draws inspiration from the East London aesthetic surrounding it.” Look for stuff like stone bass carpaccio with avocado, horseradish, ginger, honey and wakame, king crab cocktail and short rib burgers to grace the menu with a “fantastic cocktail list of classics with a Bread Street twist” available at the bar run by Mario Neziri, formerly of The Sanderson.
