Preview: 2 Water Wine Tasting For Nepal, 23 June

Looking for a new party trick? Head down to Vanilla bar this Thursday evening for your chance to turn wine into water.

Far from being the less fun version of a certain biblical party trick, the concept is the fundraising model of 2 Water, an innovative organisation that raises money for water projects in developing countries through public and corporate wine tastings. By placing a clean source of water in a deprived area, 2 Water not only ensures better sanitation for the community and irrigation for its crops, but also helps people lift themselves out of poverty by reducing the amount of time per day they must spend fetching water (which can be as much as 4 hours), enabling them to instead learn vital skills and work.

To help this great cause, simply buy a ticket to Thursday's event (£50), sample a selection of 5 delicious wines and, as if by magic, 12 new water wells will appear in Western Nepal. Thanks to 2 Water's two-tiered structure, whereby all their organisational costs are sponsored separately, all of the event's proceeds will go directly to funding these water wells. With over 1.2 billion people still struggling to access clean water, there's never been a better time to start drinking.

The wine tasting runs from 7.30pm til late at Vanilla, 131 Great Titchfield Street, W1W 5BB. Tickets are £50 and can be purchased here.
