Music Choice: 7–13 February

This week's edition of Music Choice is coming to you a little late, but not too late to stop you catching some exciting gigs this week:

Start things off tonight in a gentle and pleasant way with twee poppers Allo Darlin' at the Lexington.

At the Lexington on Tuesday, but in a very different vein, are New York dance-punk/artist collective MEN. Their debut album, Talk About Body, is out next week. For something mellower, acoustic wunderkind Hannah Peel is at the Vortex Jazz Club.

On the heels of their recently released album, the hotly-tipped Esben and the Witch will be at XOYO on Wednesday. Support comes from Trophy Wife.

Thursday, aggro-electro group Three Trapped Tigers are supporting the difficult-to-Google buzz band Actress at Camp.

San Francisco post-punk trio Weekend are playing two shows this week, Friday at the Lexington and Saturday at the Windmill. If you like frazzle and reverb, this is the band for you.

Finally, round out your weekend with neo-goth metallers Funeral for a Friend at the Borderline. If you'd rather prep yourself for next week on a quieter note, chanteuse Moddi is at the Wilmington Arms.
