GB Volleyball Teams Will Compete At 2012 Olympics

Despite the women's indoor volleyball team being karate chopped in the knees with removal of public funding a few months ago, both the men's and women's teams have been green lit by the British Olympic Authority to take up the host nation places in the 2012 Games.

The women's team defiantly fundraised in the face of the funding hole but it is now hoped that UK Sport will offer a financial boost, now they're definitely digging and dinking in 2012.

Volleyball is one of a handful of sports where GB teams may not have qualified for the Olympics on merit. Decisions on beach volleyball, handball and water polo will follow, whilst our basketball teams await the verdict of the world's governing body, Fiba.
