The Luminaire To Close

The LuminareSad news for gig goers. Kilburn's much loved The Luminaire venue has this evening announced it's to close next month along with its downstairs pub The Kings Head. Since opening in 2005, the independent venue has become a favourite of gig goers with it's dedication to good sound and carefully curated line-ups.

The last regular event will be December 31st with the hope of final farewell shows sometime in March. The venue owners bowed out with the message:

"It is with sadness that we have to announce the closure of The Luminaire and The King's Head on 31st December. It's been a labour of love for a while now, and at this point it makes no sense for us to continue. To all those who supported this independent venue, and the great artists who played here, since we opened back on 1st March 2011; you have our grateful thanks."

Farewell then to The Luminaire; you'll be missed. On the upside, The Flowerpot, formerly of Kentish Town, has announced it's found itself a new home in Camden which they intend to open in the next few weeks. More on that when we have it.
