A few days after the plans for a cross-river cable car were submitted, a batch of new, more detailed images of the project have been released.

Some more information, too, on how it would work. The system would comprise two docking stations and 34 gondolas. Each gondola, departing every ten seconds, would carry up to ten people, and the steel towers that support the cables would rise to a height of 93 metres and 66 metres. A drive station would be situated on the northern bank, with a return station and gondola garage on the Greenwich side of the river. A journey between the two stations would take around five minutes; by way of comparison, a similar journey from North Greenwich tube to Royal Victoria DLR takes a maximum of seven minutes.

Fares-wise, the system would be integrated into Oyster, with fares mooted at around £2.50 per ride for Oyster users, £3.50 anyone else. It's not yet known whether Travelcard owners would be able to ride for free. TfL has also stated that they hope most of the estimated £25 million construction cost would come from the private sector.
