The whimsical title doesn't really describe what this architectural project by London Fieldworks is: namely, a sculptural installation in two London parks that aims to be a home for birds and insects.
The two sets of tree-hugging clusters, part of the Secret Garden Project, are located in Duncan Terrace Gardens, near Angel (shown in the photographs above), and Cremorne Gardens, in Kensington. They are said to be inspired by the nearby vernacular architecture; in the case of Duncan Terrace Gardens, the bird-houses are flanked by a Georgian row on one side and a low-rise 1960s housing block on the other. Perhaps it doesn't reflect well on Islington resident satisfaction that, on our visit, not a single bird nor insect appeared to have gone near the installation?
