Harry Potter And The Architect’s Riddle

Have Warner Bros. struck some kind of weird product placement deal with Norman Foster? Posters for the new Harry Potter movie prominently feature structures designed by the architect, namely the Willis Building and City Hall. The previous flick was promoted by a Gherkin-focussed image, while that same film also featured a scene in which Lord Foster’s Millennium Bridge was destroyed by yobbo death eaters. What are the odds that the final confrontation between the boy wizard and he-who-must-not-be-named will take place on top of the British Museum’s glass roof?

Rather high-octane images for Harry Potter…incongruous sexing up – no wonder the US find it so amusing…”Harry Potter nation”…ha…and now Harry is MAD!

Actually, you might not be far off. Some modern buildings’ designs can be contested for copyright violation if used in very public displays/adverts etc. If WB has, as you said, struck a deal with the architect, they may use the images without fear of lawsuit.

    If not…well, that’s just weird.
