Be There First: London Shows Opening
Opening tomorrow: Hendrix in Britain, an exhibitions commemorating the 40th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's death, at the Handel House Museum. Look out for his distinctive orange jacket, and the scrawled travel directions to the Isle of Wight Festival, which'll be on display.
Film fans can check out the Film4 Frightfest from Thursday, or the London International Animation Film Festival kicks off on Friday. The former has been described as the "Woodstock of gore" by Guillermo del Toro, and takes place at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square. The latter spreads itself a bit wider, taking in locations like the Roxy Bar and Screen, the Renoir Cinema, and the Rio Cinema. Both sound perfect if the weather continues like this.
Last Chance to See: London Shows Closing
Firstly, the V&A's architecture show, 1:1 Architect's Build Small Spaces closes on Sunday, so make a Bank Holiday date to see it if you haven't already.
And theatre shows closing this week include Rogers and Hammerstein's State Fair at the Trafalgar Studios on Saturday. (Read our review of the production from before it transferred here.)
Sunday is your last chance to see Room on the Broom at the Garrick Theatre. It's also the end of The Great Game: Afghanistan season at the Tricycle Theatre.
Monday is the last performance of In The Night Garden Live at The O2: popular pre-school BBC programme comes to life in London with this immersive family show. Or if your kids are a little older, chances are they'll love the Go!Go!Go! Show at the Leicester Square Theatre: a fab family extravaganza featuring five new pop stars, but hurry: it too closes on Monday. Let us know if we've missed anything in the comments below.
