Dean Nicholas Last Minute Listing: Dead End Drive-In

0103_deadend.jpg Cigarette Burns Cinema heads south of the equator tonight for a slice of celluloid dystopia, Antipodean style, in the form of Dead End Drive-In. Set in the frighteningly futuristic days of 1994 (as viewed from all of eight years previously) the world as we know it has been overrun by punks who are turning drive-in movie theatres into concentration camps. An example of the shockingly overlooked genre known as Ozploitation, DEDI boasts some (well, one) pedigree name: stuntman Guy Norris, who threw his body on the line for Mad Max 2, performed some of the more dangerous spots in the film, a few of which you can see in the trailer. Dead End Drive-In is at the Mucky Pup, Islington. Things kick off at 7.30pm, and the event is free.
