Do a little dance
Highbury Roundhouse is putting on a Valentines themed dinner and dance on Saturday night, featuring classic jazz tunes from the 30s and 40s for you to dance to. 7-11.30pm, tickets ₤25.
On the same night, The Last Tuesday Society will be putting on a slightly quirkier affair at the fantastically named Stone Horse Paper Cow in Liverpool St. Tickets ₤20.
If you’d like to boogie for a good cause, Thirst Bar are hosting ‘Love and Haiti’ on the 14th, a fundraiser with some top DJs designed to raise money for those afflicted by the quake. Tickets ₤10.
Be entertained
The National Theatre is encouraging couples to snuggle up and watch classic film ‘The Apartment’, which is being projected onto their Flytower. Bubbles and confectionery are also available for sharing. (Free, ₤10 for the food & drink)
You can take a love boat down the Thames with a private Tate-Tate experience which includes champagne, a private tour guide and tickets to both exhibitions. At ₤400, however, we’re inclined to say you might get more of a river-based thrill with this.
In a slightly different spirit, head down to New Cross for ‘Eros Be Damned’, a party featuring live music and performance art as part of the ‘New Moons and Cell Mates’ exhibition.
We’re trying very hard not to make zoophilia jokes, so at the tail end of this segment we’ll just let you know that London Zoo are doing a special rate of ₤30 per couple, which includes a free guide.
Buy a gift
Preserve the memory of your romantic tour of Tower Bridge (₤15 including champagne and chocolate) by purchasing an original oil painting of the structure.
Or, if chocolates and flowers are too clichéd, ₤2 will get you a romantic tea wallet sent to your loved one in time for the 14th.

Don’t despair if you’re single, Bar Kick is staging ‘A Game of Two Halves‘, a cocktail fuelled medley of speed dating, humour and table football. Free, from 7pm.
