Sir Roy Anderson Quits Top Post At Imperial College

royanderson.jpg

The Rector of Imperial College, Sir Roy Anderson, will step down after fewer than 18 months in the top role. The good Rector wants to follow in the footsteps of Belle de Jour and concentrate on his career as a reserch scientist (although don't stretch that analogy too far, especially when you read the next sentence). In giving up the admin, Sir Roy will be able to focus on fighting infectious diseases, the area in which he made his name. He'll be staying at Imperial, readjusting his buttocks to the Chair of Infectious Disease Epidemiology in the university's Faculty of Medicine. No word yet on his successor, but the many-layered Sir Keith O'Nions will fill his shoes in the interim.
