If the veritable platter of things to do on a shoestring below doesn't appeal then go and be awestruck by the young stags in Richmond Park. As captured by KeithWD via the Londonist Flickrpool

Lack lolly? Don't lack jolly:

Tonight: The Urban Harvest Festival takes over Barbican Art Gallery until 10pm. In the spirit of old school harvest festivals, bring stuff with you: music in any format for the The DIY disco 'Bring & Share' and your old junk to exchange for treasure at the Barbican Swapshop. No tins of beans please.

Alternatively, pop along to the Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane between 6-9pm to see all the photos from Shoot Spitalfields last Sunday (spot the Londonistas) and we've heard rumour there's some free booze too.

Friday: Friday 16th October at 3.30pm - Wiltons Music Hall - Le Petit Prince - this show has now sold out for the evening performance but the company are kindly opening up their dress rehearsal for free at 3.30pm. If you would like to see this rehearsal please call us to book a seat on 020 7702 2789.

Pootle along to the Londonist 5th Birthday Party at the Water Poet from 6.30pm. A free drink to the first 100 people and apparently plenty of cake if our wishes come true. Come find Lindsey or Matt to say hi.

Saturday: Explore the 1 day arts happening Fishtank Festival from 2-11pm at the Rag Factory off Brick Lane. "Expect bands, acoustic musicians, DJs, photographers, painters, installation artists, an 8-man breakdance competition, burlesque, theatre, a fashion show, talks by acclaimed entrepreneurs, short films and an ever-increasing list of other amazing goings-on."

Sunday: Join the last day of Elefest at the Groovy Movie Picture House - the world's first solar powered cinema on Elephant Road Park, Elephant Road, SE17 1LB from 2.30pm for New Elephant Varieties featuring belly dancing, comedy and snake charming. Then hang about to catch Nigel of Bermondsey at 5pm and hope he does the One Eye Grey theme tune.

Monday: The Inside Out Festival celebrates higher education and this afternoon between 2.30-4.30pm you can join a free screening at the Birkbeck Cinema of films from students on the 2009 Media Art degree.

Tuesday: You, dear readers, can get cheap entry to this new music night at trendy Bardens Boudoir: The Goonight Club presents Vessels plus support from 8pm. Say you saw it on Londonist and get in for just £4.

Wednesday: There's serious discussion about the impact of Aids and HIV both in Africa and within the African-Caribbean communities in the UK at the British Library tonight plus a screening of 'Courage and Hope', an acclaimed new documentary about the experience of HIV-positive teachers in Kenya." Science and Silence is free to attend but please book. 6.30-9pm.

Keep us posted about events you hear about around town that are £5 or less or even better, absolutely free to enjoy. Tweet us @londonist, leave a comment or email londonist at gmail dot com. Thanks!
