Got a spare few mil cooling in the bank and on the hunt for a new crib? A once-abandoned church tower on Greyfriars Passage in the City, designed by Christopher Wren, is for sale as a house.
An ad on Prime Location placed by Foxtons, whose braying, colourful Mini-driving estate agents seem odd salespeople for a late-period Wren original, describes the three-bedroom property as a "high-specification modern house with 12 floors and platforms inserted into the 40m-high void connected by a helter-skelter of stairs". Lest you think that 'period' means 'as found', the house also feature a Jacuzzi and "ultra sleek wet rooms", and is close to St Paul's and the "fashionable Smithfields Market". It's a snip at £4,500,000.
If you don't have the reddies, then call one of Foxtons agents — who, contrary to their image, are all highly trained scholars in antiquities and period English archictecture — and see if you can at least blag a tour of the place.
