It did seem odd that the World Freerunning Championships happened indoors in 2008, so it's happy news that it's back in urban outdoor space where it belongs this year, taking over Trafalgar Square on Saturday 15th August.
Tickets are free but numbers are limited (good old health and safety, which, thinking about it, must be damnably difficult to apply to freerunning). If you want to have prime view of the 27 freerunners from across the globe competing on a specially constructed course in the Square register via Facebook by next Wednesday 5th August. The best view will be from the plinth, of course, so who's lined up for 15th August between 4-8pm? Perhaps you can sell you spot to a committed parkour fan?
