Speculation continues as to whether or not Boris will create a blue light museum but this collection represents the end of a long struggle by the Friends o the Met Police Historical Commission to create such an exhibit and is undoubtedly a more family friendly alternative to the Black Museum, which some still believe should be opened to the public.
The Collection’s exhibits will be periodically changed to showcase different items from the 15,000 strong collection currently in storage and we’ll be expecting one restraining order to be awarded to the first visitor approaching a display of truncheons intoning, “‘ello, ‘ello, ‘ello, what’s all this then?”
