Here’s what we’ve learned this weekend whilst you’ve been discovering new and winning ways with leftover turkey:

  • In the Christmas crime round-up: a Polish national has been arrested in connection with the Christmas Day murder of a man in Edmonton, whilst a 15 year old is one of 3 men arrested in connection with the Christmas Eve shooting of a man in Shepherd’s Bush.

  • There’s been a very big fire at flats in Hoxton today: no reports of any injuries.

  • It’s the beginning of the end for Woolies: the company’s oldest branch, in Croydon, is due to shut on Tuesday.

  • Katherine Jenkins has been booed by anti-fur protesters as she opened the Harrods Sale.

  • The body of a young woman has been found floating in the Thames at Barnes.
