Spurs Stadium Design Unveiled

With Tottenham Hotspur in a Redknapp-powered upward trajectory, the club can afford to think of bigger things. Like their proposed new stadium, designs for which were unveiled yesterday. The 60,000 seater ground, whose sweeping curves and are in no way similar to nearby Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, has been designed to reflect the "style and panache" of the club, and features a roof whose structure will maximise crowd atmosphere, an insult to the Spurs faithful's noise-generating ability. Interestingly, one mock shows the stadium emblazoned with the legend "Naming Rights"; while the club clearly hope for a major sponsor to christen it, with this recession on, who knows? They best hope the wind doesn't change, else the stadium will be stuck with that name.
