Remembrance Day: Silence in the Square

At 11 o'clock on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the bells of St Martins in the Field sounded and all stood silent for two minutes in Trafalgar square in remembrance of Armistice Day. Today marking 90 years since the end of the First World War. After observing a two minute silence, everyone was invited to place poppy petals in the Trafalgar Square fountains as mark of respect and remembrance of those who lost their lives.
