Tarum Tarrah! (That was a drum-roll, peeps, to get you to fall quiet and pay attention)(you’ll thank us for it in a minute). This Saturday sees what could possibly be the most exciting club night of 2008. You know, there are boom-chaka, boom-chaka, boom-chaka evenings, and then once in a blue flashing mirror ball you get a real whop bop aloo bop a wop bam boo kind of a night. Soundcrash is organising and Camden’s Koko is hosting a real classic of an AV masterclass.

Hexstatic are headlining. This duo is arguably the finest AV act in the world, with thumping rhythms and mesmerizing video clips. This would be enough to entice this Londonista…but there’s more.

The backing acts read like an audio-visual who’s who. There’s DJ Food, who plays robotic funk for want of a better expression, and is guaranteed to put a smile on your feet. And the incredibly popular Pest will be there too.

For swash-buckling melodrama on the decks, there is then a head-to-head between the ever-funny Cheeba and hippy-hoppy Boom Monk Ben. You can also throw the Shadow Orchestra and Bad Science into the equation. Honestly, Londonist doesn’t know how they’re all going to fit in. The club is installing a full sized cinema screen for the evening, so this is a real treat.

The final act on our list is the Sisters of Transistor: we hadn’t come across them before, but just love love love their sound.

Like we said, one of the best nights out to be had in London this year.

Koko is at 1A Camden High Street, London, NW1 7JE. The event runs from 9pm until 3 am. Tickets are £14.50, and you can get them here.
