Feast French

This rainy, windy August is really making us yearn for a touch of Gallic charm to lift our summer mood. Of course, we're staying in London so news that the National Theatre is going francophile has got us all of a foux de fafa.

If you remember, La Binoche is taking over this September with a headline-grabbing, highly anticipated original performance with contemporary dance superstar, Akram Khan, a retrospective of her prestigious film career at the NFT with a side order of her never before seen film-focused portraits. French Wines - the body responsible for promoting les vins Francaises to the world - are among the elite crew of sponsors for this Franglo Southbank project and are installing a total of 48 choice plonks in the NT's cafes, bars and restaurants for the next 11 weeks or so, to get you in the mood. Gallic gastronomy to genuflect to les grands vins will also be available courtesy of the NT's Mezzanine restaurant (although, you could save yourself the prix fixe and just turn up with a baguette and block of brie).

And, in case you've always been slightly embarrassed ordering anything more complicated than house white, they've provided a handy wine pronunciation guide so you needn't feel like a pillock ordering interval drinks.

But don't be too distracted by the food and booze - allez! Réservez vos tickets tout de suite.

In-I opens on 6 September and booking is open now.
