Psst ... Wanna sample a selection of canapés accompanied by a few gin-based cocktails in a classy outdoor venue that’s usually not open to the general public? Yeah, us too. That’s why we’re looking forward to checking out Tanqueray Tables. “A series of intimate cocktail evenings hosted by the makers of Tanqueray gin and the folks from toptable.co.uk,” Tanqueray Tables is offering two occasions this summer to indulge in “an intensity of flavours through cocktails and canapés.” Londonist can think of considerably worse ways to spend a summer evening.

The first chance for a tipple is 30th July at Merchant Taylors’ Hall in the City. One of the Twelve Great City Livery Companies surviving from medieval times, Merchant Taylors’ Hall’s outdoor space dates back to the 1300s when it was an enclosed vineyard and orchard. 14th August presents the next opportunity, this time at No.4 Hamilton Place, a 17th century house with Edwardian features, a terrace overlooking Hyde Park and a former tenants list which includes the Duke of Wellington.

It looks as though the 30th July do at Merchant Taylors’ Hall might already be sold out (of course, it never hurts to check). So, if an “intimate cocktail evening in a unique al fresco venue normally off-limits to the public” sounds like your sort of thing, then get on it!
