To brighten up the New Year the tube map has got a new look as of 2 January. Art on the Underground commissioned Cornelia Parker to create the new cover art which is rather like a pretty Rorschasch splodge that looks a bit like a butterfly or beetle made out of tube lines.

While you're musing on it and wondering what it says about your mental state, don't forget that, although single fares have been frozen, your travelcard will be going up as of 2 January. A monthly zone 1-2 is increasing from £89.90 to £93 and a Zone 1-4 monthly travelcard is rising from £127.50 to £132.90. Get in there before Wednesday to beat the price hikes and the inevitable return to work queues.

See Transport for London's website for more information on fares, Oysters, disruption and also, free NYE travel for tonight. Happy New Year!
