(Mini-) Music Choice: Tuesday 4 – Friday 7 December
Hellogoodbye

The Londonist Music Minions have had a night off from their hectic gigging schedule tonight, and we hope that you have done the same. The party season is rapidly approaching, and you need at least one laid-back evening to conserve your energy for the rest of the week…

If you can, start things off gently tomorrow (Tuesday) with one-time Zero 7 vocalist Sia at King’s College Student Union (tickets are officially sold out, but there are a few floating about on Gumtree at the time of writing). She is supported by Half Cousin. If you don’t have any luck there, another popular choice will be Scouting For Girls at Koko. Or you could go for something a bit different and haul your ass over to Stoke Newington to see experimental noisemaker Napoleon IIIrd for free at Barden’s Boudoir.

On Wednesday, Black Mountain will be doing their psychedelic/indie thing at Cargo (supported by the rather promising-sounding Miracle Fortress) and Norwegians The Margarets will be playing at The Fly on New Oxford Street. Apparently there are also still tickets available to see The Magic Numbers at the Royal Festival Hall, or Marillion at The Forum if that’s your thing (they were never quite the same without Fish, though).

Top billing on Thursday goes to Mitch, headlining at The Pleasure Unit in Bethnal Green – you can check out their grungy goodness (and several support acts) for a mere fiver. Unkle collaborators Autolux will be at the ICA and Glasgow disco trio Bis will perform at the Islington Carling Academy.

Finally Friday sees the poppy Hellogoodbye at the Brixton Carling Academy, Liverpudlians The Wombats at Koko, and some serious punk with UK Subs and Discharge at The Mean Fiddler.

Once again, Scarlet Mist and Gumtree are good sources for tickets, if you’re stuck.
