Dance Dance : NYE Special!

New Years Eve is a funny one. Some people think it's the best night ever, and those who don't are kind of forced into thinking maybe they should be thinking that and invariably end up having a rubbish night. But how about you just think about it as an excuse to go dancing - that's never a bad idea. Here's our favourite dancefloor happenings tomorrow night.

If it's dance music you want, then absolutely the place to be is The Key, The Cross and Canvas, for their final nights before being torn down in the New Year. They'll be going off with a bang and will no doubt be rammed. Ibizan super club Space takes over The Cross from 9 - 6am and features Femi B and Bimbo Jones on the decks.

93 Feet East host an Olde East London Knees Up with DJ sets from Kevin Rowland, The Horrors, Tunng and many more. It promises Victoria entertainment, chestnuts and mulled wine, a gentelmen's club and an opium style lounge. Sounds good but costs £25.

London's biggest alternative gay club Popstarz will be hosting their traditional New Years Eve snowstorm at The Scala. Expect 4 rooms containing indie, pop, rnb and karaoke and lots of small polystyrene pellets of 'snow' that you'll be finding down your bra for weeks. There's a nice relaxed mixed atmosphere and some might say amazing djs (*cough*). Tickets still on sale for £14, check their website for full details.

If you want to stick to the West End, then the final Rebel Rebel will be bringing fringes and skinny jeans to The Phoenix on Cavendish Square. Plus the mighty god of disco djing Jim Stanton will be doing a special guest set.

Two brilliant indie nights Afterskool Klub and White Heat combine forces for their NYE party at The Quad at LSE. Afterskool is one of our favourite clubnights, thanks in no small part to it's student union drinks prices - tickets are £15

Loving to sulk on New Year? Then Islington Academy is the place to be for their joint Feeling Gloomy and Club De Fromage night. A £20 price tag is pretty offputting but if you love your mooching, it's probably the place to be.

You can trust the Southbank for a slightly off centre New Year and 2007 is no exception. Screw talking to your friends, why not go to a Silent Disco? If you're not familiar with the concept, you arrive and are given a wireless headphone set which you put on and select which dj you want to listen to. And then - you dance. If you take your headphones off you're treated to a weird silence and the image of lots of people dancing to seemingly nothing. Amazing. Tickets are £30 :(

Alternatively if you just fancy a house party then do a browse all events on facebook and show up at any of the idiot people who've put their parties and events complete with full address on the internet. See you on the other side.
