Another Freesheet Prepares To Launch

If the daily freesheets just aren’t filling that void in your commute, perhaps something a bit more creative will suit you better. Notes From The Underground, a new free paper, will be launched 17 December at 30 commuter hot spots. The tabloid-size literary magazine will be hand distributed, and showcase short stories, non-fiction and illustrations.

If you accidentally dodge the NFTU guy while evading London Lite/Paper distributors, you can pick the litmag up at libraries, train stations, and cafes around the city. NFTU will also launch an interactive website in an effort to help develop London’s literary community.

New issues of NFTU will run every two weeks and each issue will have a theme, starting with “The Bleak Midwinter;” perfect for getting us all in the mood for the start of winter on 21 December.

It's not the first lit handout on the Tube. Our old friends at Litro are now up to their 68th issue. Litro is also fortnightly, but concentrates on one short story per issue.

Could there be a new freesheet war brewing - one with a literary bent?
