What? You expected something different?

Victor Frankenstein was a tad taken aback when he realised exactly what is was that he had fashioned:

How can I describe my emotions at this catastrophe, or how delineate the wretch whom with such infinite pains and care I had endeavoured to form? His limbs were in proportion, and I had selected his features as beautiful. Beautiful! — Great God! His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath; his hair was of a lustrous black, and flowing; his teeth of a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid contrast with his watery eyes, that seemed almost of the same colour as the dun white sockets in which they were set, his shrivelled complexion and straight black lips.

Similar feelings of disgust finally swept through the audience at the World Music Awards when the scales were lifted and they saw their creature for what he is:

Angry Michael Jackson fans are seeking refunds on their tickets for the World Music Awards. Entry to the award show cost as much as £100, and fans say they were misled by promises that Jackson would perform a version of his hit single, Thriller.

Actually they were just miffed that he didn't perform as promised - our first instinct was to assume he'd had had his vocal chords removed and stapled to his face to fill in worry lines or something. Organisers blame the venue for cutting his 'performance' short while the venue says that's a load of old bollocks:

"We accommodated the show and the show's organisers by obtaining an extension to our licence in order to allow the show to run to eleven o'clock... And as far as we're concerned, that's what the show did. As a matter of fact, I think it finished about a minute-and-a-half early,"

Not everyone was underwhelmed with the show though:

Adam Saunders, 26, bought tickets for his fiancée, Caroline, who had waited all her life to see Michael Jackson. "It was worth it just to see her happiness at seeing him on stage," he said. "She just kind of went numb. There were tears in her eyes."

Let go of her hand and back away very slowly... slowly... slowly... RUN!
