With Download, The Isle Of White Festival and Bon Jovi's Milton Keynes shows all coming this weekend, festival season is well and truly upon us. For agrophobics everywhere else, may we suggest the following for consideration.

Tonight: Upbeat, uncynical quirky Brit punky pure pop from Circuits upstairs at the Garage alongside Popular Workshop and LR Rockets. £5 in, doors at 8.

Tuesday: From those nice folks who bring you Rock'n'Roll Soul and Health and Happiness comes a shameless celebration of the myriad influences and inspirations of Primal Scream: Carry On Screaming. Expect anything and everything from soul and disco classics to out-there psychedelia and down-home country (and some Rolling Stones, presumably!) from some VERY SPECIAL SURPRISE GUEST DJs including Tim Holmes of Death In Vegas. It's free, it's at The Social on Little Portland Street, and doors open at 6.30 and close at midnight.

Wednesday: Bad news if you're a fan of the Buzfuz dulcimer which will be taking a break from their set at this month's Blang. Not that that should prevent you from attending one of London's premiere anti-folk (and that doesn't mean they all hate folk, quite the opposite, they just love lo-fi pop too) nights. South Africa's Simon Chauke, Cambridge's Lionshare, Parisian David Haircut Ltd and London's own Ben Anstis, not forgetting the aforementioned slimmed down Sergeant Buzfuz create a varied multi-cultural night out of wonderful music. £5 bargain entry from 7.30 at the 12 Bar Club on Denmark Street. And the bar's open till 1!
