Reading Announced

Fresh from last week's news that Pearl Jam are playing a small gig at the Astoria, they've decided to take it to the other size extreme and be the closing headliner at this year's Reading Festival. Franz Ferdinand have the honour of headlining first night Friday above Kaiser Chiefs on the bill, while Muse make a much awaited return to the festival stages with their only UK festival date on Saturday, above Arctic Monkeys.

While we love Muse, we can't help but feel that these headline choices are a little uninspired. However with no Glastonbury, its almost certain that Reading will sell out very quickly regardless. Lower down on the bill, things as always get a bit better, with Placebo 2nd on the bill on Sunday, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Raconteurs rocking out on Saturday and Belle & Sebastian giving it a go on the Friday.

Tickets are on sale, and guess what, weekend online have gone already. You can still get them in a few stores though, or buy individual days online. Full ticket details can be found here.

If Reading seems a little tired now, then stick with Londonist, as we'll be doing a guide of the best festivals overseas very soon.
