Hot ticket for the week has to be Vancouver's The Organ, a dreamy, nearly all female hybrid of Joy Division, The Smiths, Blondie and The Cure. Under the singular leadership of the utterly talented Katie Sketch, they take to the stage on Tuesday 18th July at King's College Union. Alternatively here's a few other dates on sale from today that you might considering spending a little of your hard earned wonga upon.

Knock-kneed, acoustically venomous and new friends with Snow Patrol of all people, Martha Wainwright takes in two nights at the Bloomsbury Theatre on the 27th and 28th of May.

And if craggy country folk is your thing, along with a general love of pop eclecticism and short marriages to tall actresses, then perhaps we can recommend an evening with Lyle Lovett in town at the Royal Albert Hall on the 6th October.

Or maybe you never escaped the weight of your black eighties eyeliner in which case the thought of Ian Astbury returning to his roots as frontman of the wildly ludicrously overwrought goth-rock combo The Cult will no doubt be bringing tears of joy to your eyes. Reignite the Love Revolution at Brixton Academy on 22nd September.

Perhaps none of the above entices, and you'd rather see what new direction Chester's Hope Of The States have decided to head off into. Always a stunning live show; randomly unpredictable and politically empassioned, they're at Koko on Thursday 22nd June at Koko.
