Alfred Hitchcock said it would happen, and now it has: the birds are turning on us!

According to this report a man was attacked by two crows today as he jogged along the tow path in Battersea.

Justin Kay was out getting a bit of exercise when apparently, "the birds swooped and pecked at him":

Mr Kay said he was able to fight off the first attack, but one eventually landed on his head and tore at his skin with its beak, drawing blood.

A spokesperson from the RSPB is quoted as saying "The fact that they landed on him is not unheard of and if they had just fledged young they might have seen him as a threat."

Ok, so it may not sound all that bad on its own, but put this story alongside the bald eagle which went walkabout the other week and those Peregrine Falcons breeding over in Marylebone and this starts to look suspiciously like the first wave of some kind of invasion.

We don't want to cause a panic or anything but...maybe we should start thinking about evacuating.
