The Sun Inn feels anything but sunny with its dark wooden interior and foliage-heavy front garden, but it's certainly a charmer. Catch it during a big rugby game and you'll get a very different experience to that of a quiet Sunday afternoon.
A curvaceous bar is supported by columns that look like embiggened chess pieces. The only natural light filters in through stained glass windows showing the rising sun. It's a cosy, warm sort of place, without aspiring to any kind of greatness. As a Fuller's pub, the beer range is predictable, and the food is hearty. The best seats in the house (especially if you're visiting during a rugby match, but aren't a fan) are the tables out front, surrounded by greenery on a reasonably quiet Richmond back street.
