Given the name, it's no surprise to learn that The Narrowboat is hard up against the Regent's Canal. Inside, too, the pub feels somewhat barge-like, with a long, thin bar area and a lower deck kitted out for dining. All that's missing for that authentic barge ambience — thankfully — is a failing electric heater and the smell of bilge.
Unlike many pubs that have taken the 'gastro' route, The Narrowboat feels equally comfortable as a drinking den — if you're lucky with the seating — you can pass many a happy hour gazing at the canal from the balcony.
Beer is by Young's, with a trio of rotating ales from other sources. Look out for the salty old sea dog peering out the window on Baldwin Terrace.
