Long Wave is part of a temporary collection of shipping containers — aren't they all, these days? — just south of Elephant and Castle's horrible road junctions. Amid the creative offices, restaurants (take your pick from pizza, Vietnamese, French bistro and Caribbean, to name a few) there's this sleek wooden box filled with packing crate tables, battered sofas and artwork for sale on the walls.
Elephant isn't blessed with a range of decent boozers and a bit further down the road in Kennington or Camberwell, Long Wave might not stand out. Here on the Walworth Road, however, its relaxing vibe and beer from local Orbit and Fourpure breweries make it a lovely place to while away some time (though perhaps less so sitting outside by the aforementioned Walworth Road). It also stocks Little Bird gin from south London, though if you're not in mood for alcohol there's a decent range of coffee and soft drinks. Catch it while it's still here.
