Chelsea's full of classy gastropubs, where the casual drinker feels a little bit intimidated by the omnipresent cutlery and £20-a-main menu. The Pig's Ear is different, though. It has a relaxed vibe, with a couple of interesting real ales (including the pub's own Pig's Ear brew). Better yet, there's a booze-food demarcation. The front bar is very much for for the drinker, while the back bistro room and upstairs dining room cater for the diner. Prices can be a bit steep, but you won't be disappointed by the grub. Unless you order the snails; but then snails are never worth eating.
