Ever been to Ridley Road Market? The traditional market, located in the centre of Dalston, has traders selling everything from food, to homewares to clothing. The area traditionally had many residents of African or Caribbean descent, a history which is reflected in the products available at the market today.
Our reporter, Abisoye Osundairo, visited in February 2020, just before London went into lockdown. She spoke to some of the traders and customers, and found out how the gentrification of the local area is affecting the market, and the people whose livelihoods rely on it.

Ridley Road Market is back up and running after lockdown, though is currently operating at reduced capacity, and not all stallholders may be present. Current opening hours are 8am-3pm Monday-Saturday. Keep an eye on the Ridley Road Market Twitter feed for future updates.
