We recently told you about an exciting new chapter in London's bike hire scheme coming in September — the launch of 500 Santander e-bikes, and an upgrade to simplify how you rent bikes across the network.
The downside of this is that while TfL rolls out these updates, there will be no Santander Cycle hire at all across London on the weekend of 10-11 September. More specifically, you won't be able to hire a bike between 10pm on Friday 9 September and 6am on Monday 12 September.
The only thing you WILL be able to do is to dock a bike that you've already got out.
As a former London mayor, who unduly took credit for the city's bike hire scheme, once said: them's the breaks. Or should that be brakes.
