Planning on celebrating New Year in town? Take advantage of the free transport.
As is now traditional, many Transport for London services will be free of charge for a few hours around the New Year's celebrations.
Charges will be waived from 11.45pm on New Year's Eve, through till 4.30am on New Year's Day.
The festive freebie includes rides on the tube, Overground, TfL Rail, trams, DLR and buses. It does not apply to train services operated by companies other than TfL.
Most of TfL's network will remain open throughout the night — not just those on the usual Night Tube map. Exceptions include parts of the Overground; the Waterloo & City line, which runs till 2.40am; and the Piccadilly line between Uxbridge and Rayners Lane.
Some stations very convenient for the fireworks and central revelling will not be joining the late night party, presumably to prevent overcrowding. These are Blackfriars, Chalk Farm (due to its proximity to Primrose Hill), Charing Cross, Covent Garden, Lambeth North, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Southwark, Temple and Westminster.
