Lambeth Country Show might be cancelled this year, but there's a worthy alternative you'll want to know about, taking place in and around Vauxhall City Farm.
Stretched across the weekend of 16-17 May 2026, the Vauxhall May Fair brings a taste of countryside life to south London, with two days of wholesome activities, including:
🐑 Sheep shearing and wool spinning: watch the resident sheep get their spring trim, then see spinners use wheels to turn the material into yarn for sweaters and suchlike.
🌱 Sow seeds, then take them home to grow — plus purchase other plants to put in your garden.
🗺️ Embark on a family trail around the farm, into Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and along Tyers Street, where you'll discover animal paddocks.
🐰 Snuggle up with smaller animals.
🖌️ Get little faces painted into fave farmyard animals or flowers.
🎾 Sign up for springtime games for kids, teens and grownups.
By the way, it's the farm's 50th anniversary, so while entry and many of the events are free, do consider making a donation to the anniversary appeal if you can.
