Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Is The Place To Be This Summer

This year's Great Get Together is set to be the biggest yet.

It's 10 years since the iconic 2012 Olympics and Paralympics (yikes!). But the legacy lives on at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which is still THE park to visit this summer, thanks to a programme jam-packed with events for everyone. We're talking live music and dance, sports screenings, funfairs, al fresco cinema, TikTok workshops... and even a pirate show!

Let's take a sneak peek at what's going down in Stratford this summer:

Funfair rides, face painting, street theatre, table tennis and a storytelling tent are just some of the things to expect at The Great Get Together, coming to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 23 July. There are live grooves from BBC Music Introducing, London School of Samba, busker areas — as well as performances from Sadler's Wells (including Peaky Blinders!). You can get active too, with everything from biking to kayaking to skateboarding on the sporty menu.

It's the biggest Great Get Together yet, and — even better — is totally free to enter. Street food, ice creams and chilled bevvies will keep you refreshed during the excitement of it all. Sign up to discover more about The Great Get Together.

2012 nostalgia

Be whisked a decade back in time, with a nostalgic journey to the Celebrating 10 Years Festival Site (24 July-8 August). Here you'll get to relive golden moments from the 2012 Games, courtesy of screen and stage experiences — including THAT opening ceremony.

From 2-8 August on the festival site, families can hang out while watching live Commonwealth Games action on the big screen, get down at a family rave, watch screenings of movies including Encanto and Spiderman, and be mesmerised by live cowboy and pirate shows. YEE HAW ME HEARTIES! 🤠🏴‍☠️

As if that wasn't enough, mind-blowing science show Wonderstruck will be cooking up some explosive experiments — fun enough to inspire your child to become the next Einstein/Curie.

And there's more...

There's always plenty going on at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park: play parks, swan pedalos, boat tours, bottomless brunches, live sports, plus London's SCARIEST slide, which corkscrews down the ArcelorMittal Orbit. Make sure you spend some quality time with family and friends this summer at this golden east London park.
