Your socially-distanced summer plans are sorted, with a new drive-in experience rolling up to south London this summer.

@TheDriveIn's going to be touring the UK, but bookending its travels with a few days in London on either side — starting off in south from 5-7 July, and finishing up in east London in September.

Films haven't been announced yet but they promise a mix of 80s classics and 21st century blockbusters.

With cars parked 2m apart, the event comes with built-in social distancing. And also in store: roller waiters, American diner-inspired snacks, family-friendly matinees, and support acts including stand-up comedy, bingo, and silent (yet very public) car disco.

Even better, 10 car spaces per evening have been set aside for NHS workers, to be won by ballot — enter your details on the Key Worker request form on the website to throw your name in the hat.

Swell news all round. We dig it.

Tickets are released on 27 May. Sign up to be the first to find out more here.
