We've heard of doing a 'big shop' — but Leadenhall Market is now offering the opportunity to do the exact opposite, thanks it its 'Wunderkammer'.

Every Thursday from 3 September-22 December 2026, a new address — No. 27¼ — opens up for business at the Victorian shopping arcade, with a trio of tiny shops:

🧶 Wool boutique, Tronage Yarns, a nod to Leadenhall's medieval trading past, where wool 'tronage' was determined, by being weighed using a specially installed beam, or 'trona'.

🖼️ Lilliput Cards, an 'art gallery' of mini limited edition postcards.

Say the Market: "Leadenhall’s architecture is grand, but many of its charms are found in the details: from the original butchers' meat hooks above our restaurants, bars and shops, to the City's dragons keeping a watchful eye over visitors."

Directly above the shops (which alas, you won't be able to enter) is a human-sized serving window, inspired by Florence's famous buchette del vino, from which you'll be able to acquire cakes, coffee, wine and various exclusive products, depending on the week/specific vendor. On opening day, it'll be selling the same postcards that are on display in Lilliput Cards.

If you enjoy whimsical fancies like this, know that an Italian restaurant — everything in it crafted from wool — comes to London later this autumn.

Wunderkammer at Leadenhall Market, every Thursday (2pm-6pm) from 3 September-22 December 2026, free (though items collected through the window are paid-for).
