Vibrant Diwali celebrations return to Trafalgar Square in October 2026, featuring music, dance, workshops and more.

The free Diwali on the Square festival, organised by the Mayor of London, and featuring people from across London's Hindu, Jain and Sikh communities, kicks off early afternoon on Sunday 25 October 2026 (note that Diwali itself falls on 8 November 2026).

Confirmed for 2026's Diwali celebrations are:

💃 An opening ceremony consisting of 200 vibrantly-clothed dancers in the centre of Trafalgar Square.

🪘 Main stage performances throughout the day from London's Hindu, Sikh, and Jain communities (last year's highlights included Bollywood Dance School, BAPS Neasden Temple prayers and a live garba band by Chinmaya Mission UK).

🧘🏽 Dance workshops, where you can get a taste of dance styles from different parts of India, ranging from traditional Classical and folk to popular Bollywood.

🍛 A range of caterers serving up South Asian food, including fusion vegan and vegetarian cuisine.

✨ The Glimpse of Goddesses area, offering an introduction to Hindu goddesses through a live tableau of actors representing Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati.

🧒 Activities for children, including a Diwali quiz.
