The Shard's Lights Will Be Switched Off For This One-Off Stargazing Event Next Week

A free astrophotography event takes place at The Shard next week, with the skyscraper's lights being switched off to give stargazers the best view possible.

It's all a big promo event for the Night Sight mode on the Google Pixel 4, but we have to admit, being at levels 69-72 of The Shard with the lights out sounds rather special. Tom Kerss, an astronomer from The Royal Observatory, hosts the event, where participants can use the Google Pixel 4 to see into space and capture the Milky Way.

A space-themed food menu, and moonlight-themed cocktails are available throughout the evening.

Fingers crossed for clear skies on the night.

Astrophotography at The Shard takes place on Wednesday 6 November. Tickets are free but strictly limited — available from 9am on Thursday 31 October.
