The 'Spirit of Christmas' lights over Regent Street will be back for Christmas 2026 — and we're promised some "sparkling new additions" for this year too.
Switched on from Thursday 5 November 2026, the 30 'spirits', made from 300,000 LED lights, can be seen over Regent Street, Jermyn Street and at St James’s Market, with additional twinkling displays on nearby Glasshouse Street, Swallow Street, and the Quadrant Arcade.
A special Christmas light switch-on event happens from 5pm-9pm on 5 November, with Regent Street going traffic-free for the occasion with family-friendly entertainment, and various special events happening in local shops.
Back for 2026 is the illuminated Wishing Tree on St James's Market. To see the tree come to life with twinkling lights, tap to make a £5 donation to food charity The Felix Project.
Regent Street and St James's Christmas lights are lit from 5 November 2026-5 January 2027. The lights run on a timer system, illuminated from 3pm-midnight daily.
