Actor Andrew Scott will appear in a new production of Vanya in the West End this autumn, with tickets available now.
Scott — best known for playing the 'Hot Priest' in hit TV show Fleabag — will take on every role in the adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s famed play, Uncle Vanya, which has been restyled by playwright Simon Stephens. The production is directed by Sam Yates and designed by Rosanna Vize.
Little more has been revealed about this new adaptation, but Chekhov's original work focuses on the fallout of a rich couple visiting their country estate and distant relatives, with themes of love, art, sex and attempted murder. Not the happiest of plots, but neither was Fleabag and that didn't do Scott's career any harm.
Vanya is at Duke of York's Theatre, 15 September-21 October 2023. Tickets are available now, and likely to sell out fast.
