A new exhibition puts Star Wars collectibles under the spotlight.

The Star Wars universe has expanded so much in recent years that you'd have to be a serious fan to keep track of it all. Fortunately, there are a lot of serious fans out there, as evinced by a new exhibition, The Fans Strike Back.

The exhibition is not an official Disney or Lucasfilm event, but a showcase of stuff collected by passionate followers of the franchise. You'll find some 600 items, including toys, games, costumes, models, comics and other paraphernalia.

The show, opening in April 2023, will also feature many large-scale models and sculptures, such as a five-metre-long replica of Jabba the Hutt. You can also enjoy a Star Wars VR experience, and have your photo taken against a range of green-screen backgrounds from the Star Wars universe. A gift shop will vend items from a galaxy far, far away.

Sounds like the kind of exhibition any fan would give their right hand to visit.

The Fans Strike Back opens 3 April at 81 Old Brompton Road, South Kensington. Tickets are on sale Wednesday 8 February from noon. Suitable for all ages.
